Success Stories
Sphero
(Specdrums)
We met Specdrums in 2017. They were a scrappy Kickstarter out of the CU in Boulder. They had raised over $200,000 from their Kickstarter based on a concept of wearable rings that could be used like drums — playing different sounds when they struck different colors. Kelsus provided some minimal mobile development support and startup advice and has since stood by proudly to see them be acquired by Sphero and achieve distribution in all Apple Stores.
Equifax
(ID Watchdog)
ID Watchdog was an interesting company when they partnered with Kelsus. Essentially a startup but trading publicly as a penny stock, they had a very effective business model as an add-on in HR benefits packages to help beneficiaries track their online identities against theft. Around the time Equifax had their troubles, they acquired ID Watchdog (which had recently been leveled-up with a mobile app created by Kelsus). Equifax remains a Kelsus Partner.
ZooPix
ZooPix is still on their startup journey, but they are showing all the signals of a successful startup. With 1000 5 star reviews on the App Store, and a raving fanbase that obsesses over weekly petshows, ZooPix is quickly becoming the place for pet lovers to hang out.
ZooPix has partnered with Kelsus to help with marketing, business development, and end-to-end software development.
DigitalTown
(JustLegal)
JustLegal was founded by Will Ogorzaly in 2015 with a $250k seed round. By the time Kelsus met them in 2017, they were well on their way to building a successful business. They partnered with Kelsus to build a complex attorney/client scheduling system that allowed attorneys to onboard seamlessly and clients to make meetings without a phone call. This was one of the key features that led to their acquisition by DigitalTown in 2018.
